725,436. Embossed thermoplastic film. CHAVANNES, M. A. Feb. 13, 1953 [Feb. 16, 1952], No. 4091/53. Drawings to Specification. Class 140. [Also in Groups V and XVI] A thin thermoplastic film which is embossed so that the pattern appears on both sides may be treated to make the pattern permanent by filling the pattern on one or both sides with a plastisol e.g. composed of vinyl resin, 100 parts; plasticizer, 50 parts; stabilizer, 2 parts and fillers or colouring agents, 8 parts. The film is then heated to cure the plastisol which, by becoming hard, retains the pattern in the film even when it has been softened by heat, e.g. where it is used as a table cover, by standing hot plates or the like on it.
