Abstract
554,228. Mechanical switches; snap-action switches. PHILLIPS & POWIS AIRCRAFT, Ltd., and DEACON, A. Sept. 24, 1941, No. 12384. [Class 38 (v)] A series of pivoted contact arms 4B ... 8B are simultaneously operated by a bar 10, which may have a snap-action handle 15. Each contact arm may be detached from the bar, by removing its pin 22, and swung round away from its associated contact so as to isolate the particular circuit. The arm may be secured in its new position by means of the pin, as shown at 25. If desired, the circuit may be permanently closed by securing the arm to its contact by means of the pin 22 as shown in the case of arm 7B. A cover fitted over the switch may leave such a small clearance that pins cannot be accidentally disengaged.
