Abstract

553,211. Pressure gauges.- KENNETT, V. A. Nov. 10, 1941, No. 14481. [Class 106 (ii)] Comprises a differential gauge in which the pressure sensitive element is a rubber bellows of unitary structure having deep corrugations the crests of which are very thiete in the radial direction. In the example shown, a cylindrical corrugated bellows 5 is closed at one end and open at the other, the flange 7 being clamped between the casing 8 and a closure plate 9 having a central pipe connection 10 The other end of the casing is closed by a plate 11 carrying a seating 20 which houses a ball bearing 19 for a pointed spindle 18: Connected to: the spindle 18 is a twisted plate strip: 22: forming a screw which engages a slot in the end 22 of a fitting secured to the closed end of the bellows and forming a seating 24 for one: end of a coiled spring 25 the other end of which engagesover the, seating 20 as shown. The corrugations of the bellows are thickened and are of rectangular section so that movement of the bellows, takes place axially. A spring 26 may be: fitted inside the: bellows, as shown and the pressure fluid outside the bellows enters through a pipe-connection 17.
