Oct. 6, 1941, Nos. 2218/42 (Divided out of 552,502), and 2219/42 (Divided out of 552,513), [both in Group XXXVI]. [Class 44] [Also in Group XXXVI] A box for housing fuses or couplings connecting various cables if loosely laid in conduit tubes e, comprises a base a and cover b furnished with slots with which the conduit ends can be interlocked by a lateral movement. The base and lid are of similar construction and have gaps c in their rims which register to form circular apertures ; concentric with these apertures are the circular portions 12 of keyhole shaped slots 1, the open end 1<1> of which is tapered to form a throat through which a resilient grommet d', constructed as described in Specification 552,502, [Group XXXVI], is forced and snaps into the circular part 1<2>. These slots are formed in a liner strip k which also has openings n which receive the hooked ends m' of spring catches m to secure the cover. A screw stud fixed in the catch m carries a nut r which locks the catch when screwed up and when unscrewed can be pressed inwards to release the catch. A channel shaped depression s with holes t for fixing screws leaves a central space recessed in the outside of the box to accommodate the heads of screws securing the internal fittings. The holes t may be closed by knockout discs, and the holes c by sheet metal inserts.
