Abstract
551,032. Actuating switches. PEARSON, J. B. Oct. 23, 1941, No. 13651. [Class 38 (v)] For controlling movement of a crane or other mechanism, a drum A is geared thereto and wrapped or unwrapped by a rope F. At desired points, the rope is caused , to operate stop switches I, I<SP>1</SP>. In the example, spring clips H disposed in the rope grooves cause the rope to ride high and actuate depending plates or levers K, K' to operate the switches as necessary. In a modification, operating parts of switches project from inside the drum, through holes in the bottoms of the grooves at appropriate points.
