Abstract

723,045. Topping winches. NEW ENGLAND TRAWLER EQUIPMENT CO. June 5, 1952, No. 14175/52. Class 78 (5). Winch drum 14 comprises holding pawl 31 co-operating with ratchet 30 and operated by solenoid 38. Motor 28 drives the drum through worm gearing 23-22, and includes in its electric circuit solenoid 38 and switch 40. The latter is operated by plunger 37 which is moved in one direction by the solenoid 38 and in the other direction by spring 36, the solenoid being connected by rod 35 and rod 34 to said part 31. Actuation of a master switch withdraws the pawl and drives the drum in lowering or hoisting direction as desired.
