Abstract

550,656. Boots &c. BRITISH UNITED SHOE MACHINERY CO., Ltd. (United Shoe Machinery Corporation). July 15, 1941, No. 8921. [Class 17 (ii)] An insole is provided with a sewing rib 12 formed by making two substantially parallel cuts 18, 20 at a slight angle to the surface of the insole, opening the channels and cementing the two ribs 14, 16 together, and applying, if desired, a layer 24 of reinforcing fabric. Advantageously, the sewing rib 12 is moulded to a curved shape, as shown. Specifications 228,578, [Class 17 (i)], and 466,738 are referred to.
