Abstract

550,345. Denture cleansing compositions. BEER, W. Aug. 8, 1941, Nos. 10114/41 and 10500/ 42. [Class 91] A denture cleansing composition comprises a mixture of finely powdered bath brick and whiting in equal proportions by weight. The amount of bath brick may be increased or decreased by 2 per cent. The compositions may be in paste form by the addition of just sufficient water to form a thick paste. A usable paste may be prepared from the latter by the addition of a preservative consisting of 1 part by volume of glycerine and 2 parts by volume of water. The usable paste may be prepared directly by the addition of a suitable quantity of the preservative to the powder composition. Half the amount of bath brick in the powder or paste compositions may be replaced by an equivalent amount of pumice powder.
