549,649. Colour screens; goggles. INTERNATIONAL WELDING CO.; Ltd. (Neumann, J. A.). June 6, 1941, No. 7151. Drawings to Specification. [Class 97 (i)] A protective screen for welders consists of a coloured or colourless transparent glass sheet carrying a transparent layer of metal and a layer of lacquer or varnish to which colour has been: imparted. The metal may be silver, gold, platinum, or copper, and may be applied electrogalvanically, by spraying, or by cathodic atomization. The varnish may be yellow, or may become yellow when heated, or may be coloured to suit requirements; it may be a transparent cellulose lacquer dried at a temperature of about 150‹C. The Provisional Specification describes also a screen comprising a plain glass coated with) a metal layer and with a layer of coloured varnish, and having a coloured glass over the varnish layer.
