549,384. Injectors. HATHORN, DAVEY& CO., Ltd., HESLETT, G. W., and GUY, A. July 30, 1941, No. 9689. [Class 71] [Also in Groups XXVII and XXIX] A change-over valve for causing the exhaust of an internal-combustion engine compressor, or other highpressure source to pass directly to an exhaust pipe or to an ejector for evacuating a vessel or pipe, e.g. in the priming of a receiver cylinder or pump, comprises a double-conical member 3 movable between seats 4, 5 controlling passages leading to a direct exhaust 6 or to an ejector 7, 8 connected at 9 to the cylinder &c. to be primed or evacuated, the member 3 being rotatable on its stem 10 formed with spiral vanes 18 against which the gases impinge and cause rotation. The stem 10 is fitted with an operating-handle 11 and has a lostmotion connection at 12 with a sleeve 13 sliding against the action of a spring 15, so that when the valve closes upon the seat 4, further movement is allowed for the actuation, by a stop 16 on the sleeve 13, of a tappet valve 17 controlling the connection to the cylinder &c. to be evacuated.
