Abstract
549,023. Garden frames. WILLIAMSON, K. F. May 7, 1941, No. 5907. [Class 20 (i)] Garden frames are built of members, each comprising opposed side bars A, B grooved on one face to receive a sheet of glass C or similar transparent or translucent material, and tied together by resilient members E such as helicalspring wire-members. The framed members may be used between the ground and a wall, or opposed members may incline toward each other to form a ridge, or they may be used to form a garden frame in which the back is higher than the front or for a large gable structure. In the ridge type of frame, the upper bars may be replaced by a common bar grooved on two adjacent faces and the frame members are secured together by resilient ties K which pass from the lower bars of the frames up over the ridge and connect at their upper ends to the upper bars of the opposite frame. The frame members may be hinged together or may be joined in line by further helical spring members stretched from frame to frame. The glass in one frame may be extended to enter the grooves of an adjacent frame in line with it.
