[Class 81 (ii)] The hand-piece 1 of a dental instrument for boring, grinding, &c., is arranged so as to be rockable within limits about the axis of the bit 14, which passes through and is guided by an articulated arm 15. The top half 8 of the bit is conical and the reduced diameter provides a clearance 16 in the bearing sleeve 5. To prevent the bit from being displaced longitudinally when in use, the reduced part 12 is engaged by a locking arm 9 pivoted on the hand-piece.
