548,022. Indicating-apparatus. MOLLART ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., and HARRIS, S. E. April 2, 1941, No. 4444. [Class 106 (iv)] Comprises a particular construction of movement multiplying mechanism of the type employing pivoted quadrants, rollers and flexible members. The plunger 12 which is of square section slides on ball bearings 20, 21, 25 between the back plate 16 and a saddle 19 secured thereto, and is pulled down by a spring 27 attached to the top of the plunger and to the saddle. A flexible tension member 30 such as a fine steel wire secured to the lower end of the plunger at 31 passes upward in a shallow groove in the part 18 and is passed for one or more turns around a roller 28 on a spindle 29 having bearings in the back and dial spaced plates 16, 11 and then fastened at 33 to the part 18. The spindle 29 between plates 11, 16 carries a sector 34 the curved surface of which is centred about spindle 29. A secondary spindle 15 bearing between the plates 11, 16 is formed with a roller 37 and a steel wire attached to one edge of the curved part of the sector and lying in a circumferential groove therein is passed for one or more turns around roller 37 and secured to the other edge of the sector. The spindle 15 carries a pointer 14. A lug 41 is provided for securing the instrument to a support. The diameter of pulley 28 may be adjusted.
