Abstract

547,304. Automatic control systems. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. July 4, 1941, No. 8457. Convention date, July 11, 1940. [Class 38 (iv)] [Also in Group XXXIX] A constant voltage is obtained across a load 5 irrespective of variations of the voltage of a source 3 by the provision of a shunt circuit comprising in series two thermistors both of which have negative temperature coefficients of resistance and one of which does not alter its condition in response to current changes. A third thermistor 8 also having a negative temperature coefficient and being unaffected by variations in the current through it is shunted by a resistance 9 connected in series with the load to make the voltage across the load independent of temperature changes. The load may be the input to a pelot channel for regulating repeaters in a multiplex carrier system.
