[Class 37] A thermistor of the indirectly - heated type having two or more pairs of embedded leads, employs as heating element either the resistance material itself, or a second resistance element therm- .ally coupled to the first and provided with one of the additional pairs of embedded leads. The resistance material may be that disclosed in Specification 545,679. In Fig. 1, conductors 12, 13 supply heating current whereas conductors 14, 15 carry the controlled current and are located with respect to conductors 12, 13 to avoid interference, for example the pairs of conductors are at respectively opposite corners of a square, Fig. 2 (not shown). In Fig. 4, the controlled element 27 and heating element 26 are embedded in glass or other insulating material 28 having suitable thermal properties. Fig. 3 (not shown) illustrates an application of the invention to a simple time-delay relay circuit. Specification 557,791, [Group XXXVIII], is referred to.
