Abstract

547,266. C!eaning pavements &c. AKROYD, A. E. May 6, 1941, No. 5869. [Class 107] Relates to means for clearing snow &c. from pavements, footpaths &c. In Fig. 1, a frame A has at opposite ends a handle B and wheels D, D<SP>1</SP>, brackets E, F. being secured to the sides of the frame A and supporting bars G, G<SP>1</SP>, carrying preferably flexible squeegees or scrapers H, H<SP>1</SP>, inclined to the axis of the wheels D, D<SP>1</SP> ; either squeegee &c. is brought into operation by swing- ing the frame A over. In Fig. 3, the frame carries a light internal combustion engine which drives the wheels D, D<SP>1</SP> by a chain K, the engine being supported by one or more castors N which may be adjustable vertically ; a squeegee H is provided on the underside of the frame. In place of brackets for supporting the squeegee or engine, the framework may be cranked &c.
