Abstract

547,177. Paper bags. WINSKILL, J. W., and MEDWAY PAPER SACKS, Ltd. June 13, 1941, No. 7533. [Class 94 (ii)] In a gusseted paper bag, the part of the gusset C at the mouth of the bag is prevented from opening during filling, but is free to move away from the front or back or from both. In one form, the gusset is fixed to the front or back by an adhesive tape D, in another by an eyelet &c. in Fig. 6 it is prevented from opening by a tape F fixed to the front and back and covering the mouth of the gusset, but can move towards A or B, in another the sides forming the gusset are stuck together leaving it free to move towards A or B. When a filling nozzle is inserted, the gusset folds round the nozzle in line with A or B.
