Abstract

546,987. Colour television. HAZELTINE CORPORATION. Aug. 7, 1941, No. 10049. Convention date, Sept. 6, 1940. [Class 40 (iii)] In colour television interlaced scanning systems the number n of interlaced fields in a complete frame, and the number m of colours used in succession for the several fields are respectively non- integral multiples of each other so that the same field is coloured differently in successive frames. As shown, three interlaced fields are produced in known manner by the synchronized scanning discs 10, 10<1> of the transmitter and receiver, each fitted with three sets of scanning holes, and colour filters 14, 141 associated and synchronized with the scanning discs each have two colours 15, 16 and 151, 161 respectively. The transmitter and receiver are synchronized in any suitable way for example as shown by supplying the driving motors 11, 11<1> from a common source 32 of alternating current.
