Group XL] In a wireless receiver using a cathode ray indicator 17, the scanning or timing voltages applied to one pair 9 of the deflecting plates of the tube are generated by a magneto having a rotor 61 shaped, as shown, of two symmetrical but opposite spirals 62 set between the polepieces 65, 66. The incoming wireless signals are applied to the second pair of deflecting plates.
