[Class 40 (i)] [Also in Group XL] In a radiolocation or other system in which indications are given at a remote point in accordance with the movement of rotating directional aerial, the rotating aerial 1 drives an alternator 2, the output of which is shaped at 3 to form rectangular synchronising pulses which are mixed at 4 with the signals received by the aerial and are transmitted, by wire or by radio, to the remote station, Fig. 2, where the synchronising pulses are separated at 9 from the signals, which are fed to the cathode ray tube 10. The synchronising pulses are fed (1) to a time base generator 11 controlling radial scanning, and (2) to a sine wave generator 12, the output of which is amplified at 13 and drives a phonic wheel or synchronous motor 14 which rotates the deflecting coils of the tube 10, thus giving rotary scanning corresponding to the movement of the aerial 1. The invention may be used to synchronise the transmission from a number of satellite stations in accordance with the rotation of an aerial at the central station, Fig. 3 (not shown).
