Abstract
546,898. Alloys. LEWIS, A. M. April 20, 1942, No. 5212. [Class 82 (i)] Alloys of platinum with 1-95 per cent. of tungsten or molybdenum or both are made by filling a platinum tube with a powdered mixture of platinum and tungsten, platinum and molybdenum, or platinum, tungsten and molybdenum, compressing the mixture, closing and sealing the tube, and heating it to whiteness. It is then hammered, rolled, or swaged until below 'red heat, resulting in a homogeneous, malleable, and ductile alloy.
