[Class 80 (ii)] [Also in Groups XXVI and XXXVII] The subject-matter is described in Specification 546,821, but the claims are directed to a power transmission system in which gear changing from one ratio to another is effected automatically in response to the engine speed varying beyond a given limit, and includes means for interrupting the transmission in response to the said variation of the engine speed, means for selecting a new gear ratio, means responsive to the speeds of the engine and load and acting upon the energy input to the engine for synchronizing the engine speed with that of the load for engagement of the said new gear ratio, and in addition, means responsive to the engine and load speeds for preventing re-engagement of the transmission until substantial synchronism obtains.
