Abstract

546,249. Spray-producers. PEIRCE, F. C., and WILLIAMS, K. A. Jan. 3, 1941, No. 112. [Class 69 (iii)] [Also in Group XXI] A foam fire-extinguisher comprises a portable container 1 fitted with a hand pump by means of which the foam-forming liquid in the container is placed under pressure, discharge taking place through a flexible tube 13 fitted at its end with a metal tube 15 in which are located oppositely directed tapering nozzles 16, 17 adjustable by loosening set screws 18. Air is entrained through an opening 19. The nozzle 17 is preferably of larger diameter than the nozzle 16. The apparatus may be used for spraying disinfectant.
