[Class 17 (ii)]' A rubber shoe sole 5 is formed with a series of flat parallel-sided zig-zag ribs 6 spaced apart by intervening zig-zag grooves 7 of a width substantially less than the width of the ribs but of a depth substantially the same as the width of the ribs, each of which for its full length is formed with a concavely curved ground-engaging portion 5b. The thickness of the portions 8 of the sole which lie between the ribs is less than the width of the ribs. The ribs may extend longitudinally or otherwise of the sole.
