[Class 4] An appliance for use in the assembly of aeroplane wings comprises attachments for the ends of the main spar of a wing which are mounted on the appliance with provision for vertical and rotational adjusment. Two end standards on triangular wheeled frames Care connected to an intermediate ground frame A by spigots c<SP>1</SP> entering the tubular side members a of the ground frame. Longitudinal adjustment is allowed for by a series of holes d in the spigots which are engaged by screws D which also serve as steadying, rests. Blocks H sliding between two tubular posts on the standards support discs j by means of journals J, the discs having notches j<SP>1</SP> which can be engaged by a pivoted lever P on the block to hold the disc any of four positions. Lugs j2 on the disc support a member K temporarily bolted to the end of the wing spar M, or, as shown to the right of the figure, the lugs support hinged members n adapted to be clamped to the thin end of the spar. The blocks H are adjusted by vertical screws. The side tubes a may act as air lines being fitted with a supply nipple u and delivery nipples v. Adjustable intermediate supports Q for the wing are pivoted to the ground frame and adjustable lateral supports also are provided.
