[Class 82 (ii)] Sheet or strip, particularly of metal, is cleaned by passing it between rubber-coated rolls 2, steam jets 5 directed against the direction of motion of the sheet &c. and rubber-coated rolls 8. The jets at the entry end are supplied with wet steam and those at the exit end with dry steam.
