Abstract
544,106. Glazing. KING & CO., Ltd., J. A., and KING, J. A. Oct. 31, 1940, No. 15952. [Class 20 (iii)] The inner face of a concrete mullion 1 is formed with an horizontal groove (or grooves) 4 open on its inner side and receiving the ends of adjacent transoms 3 which, in conjunction with the mullions, support glass plates 2, the inner concrete surface of the mullion being screened by applied stone, wood, metal or other material. The adjacent ends of the transoms 3 are held in position by a washer 9 secured by a nut 8 on the screwed end of a metal bolt 6 embedded in the mullion. The glass panels 2 are held in the channels in the transoms and in vertical grooves 5 of the mullions. The capping 10 is secured in position by a layer 11 of plaster, or may, in a modification, be held by metal cramps. In Fig. 4, concrete bars act as transoms, and the inner face of the mullion is covered by a metal capping 22.
