Abstract

544,085. Knitting. BLACKBURN & SONS, Ltd., G., START, H. W., and START, E. Nov. 22, 1940, No. 16784. [Class 74 (ii)] An appliance for running work on to the needles of a straight-bar machine comprises points A carried by a bar B, means to hold the points A in engagement with the needles K, and instruments C carried by a second bar D and movable longitudinally of the points to press the work on to the needles. The bar B is mounted upon arms F, and brackets O are provided upon the needle bar to engage abutments P upon the arms F to hold the points in engagement with the needles. The bar D is carried by arms E pivoted upon pins J secured in the arms F. The pins J fit within slots N in brackets M upon the needle bars.
