Abstract
543,175. Electromagnetic relays. IGRANIC ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. May 23, 1940, No. 8610/41. Convention date, July 20, 1939. Divided out of 538,732, [Group XXXV]. [Class 38 (v)] A relay which may be used for controlling the voltage applied to lamps 35 by selectively energizing one or other of two motors 37a, 37b in the system set forth in Specification 538,732, comprises a centrally-pivoted lever 19 biassed by a spring to a central neutral position, a core 15 attached to each end of the lever polarizing windings 34a, 34b adapted to produce equal pulls on the cores, control windings 32a, 32b adapted to increase one or simultaneously decrease the other pull and additional windings 33a, 33b associated with windings 37e, 37d one or other of which is inductively energized when the corresponding motor 37a, 37b is energized. According to the direction in which they are wound these windings serve to prevent chattering of the contacts or to increase the sensitiveness. The windings 32a, 32b are in series and current in one direction through this circuit will therefore cause the lever 19 to tilt one way, and current in the other direction will cause it to tilt the other way, engaging one or other of two pairs of contacts 20, 21.
