543,047. Oil recovery from bones &c. AKTIEBOLAGET SEPARATOR. LEVER BROS. & UNILEVER, Ltd., and BOSTOCK, B. R. March 4, 1940, No. 4033. Convention date, Sept. 18, 1939. Addition to 536,328. [Class 91] In the recovery of oil from bones, flesh and blubber, bones are boiled in a digester, the resulting mass allowed to settle to separate the bulk of the oil and the remaining aqueous residue centrifuged after being .diluted with hot glue and water which is obtained either (a) by centrifuging, after gravity settling, the diluted aqueous residue from a bone digester obtained in a previous operation or (b) in a similar process of oil recovery from blubber and flesh preferably after separation from solid matter. In a modification, additional quantities of oil are recovered from the solid bony matter by treating the latter with water or glue water after it has been freed from the bulk of adhering liquid, preferably by means of a powerful spray. The partial removal of liquid' may be effected in a centrifuge or a strainer which may be of the rotary or vibratory type.
