Abstract
In the separation of oil from the residues obtained in the destructive hydrogenation of carbonaceous materials by centrifugal treatment the separation is carried out in two or more stages the separation in one stage being carried out in one or more separators provided with mechanical devices for facilitating the discharge of the slime concentrate, e.g. as described in Specification 417,372, [Group II], while in the other stage one or more separators are used having outflow opening at the periphery but without the mechanical devices referred to.ALSO:In the separation of oil from the residues obtained in the destructive hydrogenation of carbonaceous materials by centrifugal treatment, the separation is carried out in two more stages, the separation in one stage being carried out in one or more separators provided with mechanical devices for facilitating the discharge of the slime concentrate, e.g. as described in Specification 417,372, while in the other stage one or more separators are used having outflow openings at the periphery, but without the mechanical devices referred to.
