Abstract
541,538. Carbon disulphide. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP ANDERZOEKINGSINSTITUUT RESEARCH. Aug. 27, 1940, No. 13492. Convention date, Nov. 10, 1939. [Class 1 (ii)] In the manufacture of carbon disulphide by passing sulphur vapour over a solid carbonaceous material, e.g., coke from petroleum cracking, the carbon is activated by pre-treatment with steam, preferably at above medium red heat. The steam treatment may be preceded by dry distillation.
