Abstract

540,702. Vehicle draw-gear. BOMFORD & EVERSHED, Ltd., and BOMFORD, D. R. Aug. 2, 1940, No. 12487. [Class 103 (v)] Draw-bar mechanism particularly for use with machinery such as that of Specification 540,693 for tractor or motor operation and wherein the tractor means is utilised for towing the machine and also for controlling some of its operations while stationary comprises a longitudinally-extending tubular member 4 adapted to be attached to a part X of the machine chassis and carrying a reciprocable member 5 of H-section connected at one end by a cable Y to the mechanism of the machine to be operated and at the other end to the tractor. A pivoted spring or catch 12 in its normal position of inclination as shown locks together members 4 and 5, disengagement being effected to allow of operating movement by a sliding movement of a bar 10 under the influence of a handlever 17, inclines 10a on the bar lifting the rollercarrying end of the catch 12 to disengage it.
