538,701. Wallet and like fastenings. BUXTON, W. R. May 6, 1940, Nos. 8140 and 8141. Convention dates, May 18, 1939, and March 20, 1940. [Class 44 ] In a fastening for overlapping flexible members, such as the closing flap 11 of a wallet 10, in which a tongue 14 is inserted in a slot 15, a member is mounted in the slot to guide the tongue to the slot, the parts 16, 17 of the member projecting from opposite faces of the slotted part 10. The member is retained by two notches 18 formed therein and co-operating with the ends of the slot. Parts 16, 17 are normally held at small inclination to the faces of part 10 by using a curved slot Fig. 5, which provides a tongue 19 bearing against part 17, or by the provision of a covering piece 22, Fig. 9, stitched to part 10 over the part 17, the covering-piece being large enough to form a tongue-receiving pocket. As shown, tongue 14 is inserted downwards behind the guide-part 16.
