[Class 132 (iii)] [Also in Groups XXXV, II, and XVIII] Apparatus which may be used for conjuring comprises a conducting body of spherical or other form that is held in floating suspension in an alternating magnetic field created by a number of electromagnets variously arranged. The conducting body may be made to rotate by providing a shading coil on one of the pole pieces and the latter may be rotated by an electric motor (Fig. 10 not shown). An alternative or additional shading coil effect may be produced by positioning a disc of conducting material slightly on one side of the centre of the flux pole. Switches may be included in the energizing circuits and motor circuit.
