Abstract

535,352. Corrugated paper. SHERMAN PAPER PRODUCTS CORPORATION. Dec. 19, 1939, No. 32544. Convention date, Jan. 11. [Class 96] The crests of corrugations of a ply of corrugated paper 11 are indented in transverse lines at 12 staggered in relation to those of adjacent corrugations, e.g. by passing the paper, together with its plane backing ply 10 into pressure-contact with a toothed roll which may comprise a series of toothed discs bolted together and splined on a shaft or formed by cutting helical grooves &c. into a cylindrical roll, the teeth being shaped to avoid cutting the paper. The indentations which may be 3/16 to ¢ inch apart facilitate flexure across the corrugations. Specification 521,149 is referred to.
