Abstract

535,095. Machinery supports ; vibration dampers. SOC. ITALIANA PIRELLI. Sept. 27, 1939, No. 26745. Convention date, Oct. 27, 1938. [Class 80 (iv)] [Also in Group XXXII] A resilient mounting for machinery comprises a rubber strip which is formed with one or more internal or external cavities or grooves extending along the length of the strip and of such pronounced dimensions as to result in the strip being subjected in use both to compression and to flexion stresses. The strip, ignoring the recesses, has a cross-section of approximately quadrilateral outline and has secured thereto a plate, e.g. of metal, wire-net or hard rubberized fabric, whereby it may be attached to the machine and its support. Figs. 1, 3 and 5 show three examples of suitable cross-sections of strips.
