[Class 108 (i)] In order that the canvas or like portion may be easily removed from an ambulance stretcher frame, the side members of the frame are formed as a pair of tubes a of different diameters arranged one within the other and having a common longitudinal channel e. The edges of the canvas portion f are formed with hems g and are secured within the members a by rods h. Tubular rubber handles are passed over the ends of the members a and have longitudinal internal keys for engaging with the ends of the noses h.
