Abstract

533,164. Switch contacts. CRABTREE & CO., Ltd., J. A., and McLOUGHLIN. H. F. Aug. 22, 1939, No. 24117. [Class 38 (v)] A contact-arrangement suitable for motor protective switches and automatic circuitbreakers, comprises a series of insulating carriers b for the moving contacts, which carriers may be arranged as in Specification 533,163, and fixed contacts c, c' seated in shallow recesses in opposed walls of the carriers. Contact c is a block having its ends in recesses d having chamfered edges d<1> whereby the block can be rotated about the axis of the terminal screw x and so removed, the block being normally clamped by a plate e having depending lugs e<1> embracing the block and locking lugs engaging recesses f. Contacts c' are bent strips engaging open-ended recesses g and held in place by the terminal screws h locking against the wall h<1>. The block c is engaged in the off position, Fig. 3, by a pair of movable contacts a, either of which is movable into engagement with its associated contact c'. The Provisional Specification refers to modifications in detail and the Specification 533,166.
