Abstract
532,989. Master control of two motors; indicating. IGRANIC ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. Sept. 29, 1939, No. 26871. Convention date, Nov. 21, 1938. [Class 38 (iii)] Depression of an " inch push-button 39 or an " on push-button 37 effects operation of indicators 50, 52 while a second depression immediately effects operation of the machine either by an inching motor or a main running motor. Operation of the button 39 energizes a relay 2CR which energizes a reset relay which connects a signalling bell 52 and flashing signalling lamps 50 to the supply. This circuit is maintained when the button 39 is released and a relay 3CR connects an inch relay to the button 39 so that on the second operation this relay is operated to close a switch SM which energizes an inching motor, the signalling circuits being opened under control of the reset relay. Operation of the " on " button 37 energizes the relay 2CR which brings in the signalling circuits as for inching. A second operation of the button effects closure of the switch SM to start the machine, the on " relay also starting a pilot motor M which operates a crosshead starter 36 whereby the main motor is brought in, in place of the inching motor and accelerated. An " off " switch controls deceleration and a stop switch 40 restores the switches to their position shown. Signalling during operation by the larger motor may be effected by operation of the inch switch. A " safe " switch may prevent operation of the machine, and prevents further acceleration when operated during running. The stop switch, when operated, provides for return of the controller 36 to the initial position.
