Abstract
532,207. Storing gas under pressure. BROCKHOUSE & CO., Ltd., J., DEAR, A. T. C., and WALTER. C. M. Aug. 22, 1939, No. 24113. [Class 8 (ii)] The trailer of a motor vehicle carries high pressure gas cylinders 18 disposed in wedge formation, the upper cylinders each resting on two lower ones, and the lowest layer being supported in recesses in cross-bearers 20 associated with a sub-frame 15 carried by the chassis frame 5. The cylinders are filled through a valve 26 and a T-junction 27 and pipes 28, and the T-junction also serves for the discharge of the gas past a valve 30 to a pressure-reducing device 31 and a vessel 33 from which e.g. the engine of the vehicle or a field kitchen may be supplied. Gauges 36, 37 indicate the reduced and high gas pressures respectively. The reduced pressure may be regulated automatically or by hand. The system may be automatically sealed when its connection 35 with the towing vehicle &c. is broken. Specifications 410,095, 452,222, [both in Group XXV], and 493,161, [Group XXXIV], are referred to.
