Abstract

532,010. Coverings for concrete structures. HAY, H. M. Aug. 11, 1939, No. 23236. [Class 20 (iv) ] Relates to concrete floors, roofs, and walls which are cast in situ with a packing of fibre building boards, and consists in lapping the board joints, on one or both faces, with strips of metal or thermoplastic material. In the form shown in Fig. 2, the strip c. has flanged (or toothed) edges e embedded in the meeting boards a', a<SP>2</SP>, metal stems d secured to the strip having bent ends keyed in the concrete b. In a modification, the strip is of T- section with the web nailed to the edge of one of the meeting boards. As shown in Fig. 4, the web f of a T-section strip is formed with oppositely-directed spikes f<SP>1</SP>, f<SP>2</SP> pressed into the edges of the boards. Fig. 9 shows a modification in which the strip k is of sheet-metal folded to I-section with spaced walls to accommodate headed shanks l.
