[Class 97 (iii)] In an electrically driven gyroscope the support 17 for the stator field magnets 16, 161 is arranged around the gyrospin axle carrier 15 and fixed on the machined outer surface 22, 22<SP>1</SP> of the latter which may have a centring boss 20. The spin axle 10 rotates in bearings 14, 14<SP>1</SP> in the carrier 15 and has secured to it the rotor 11 and rotor field magnets 12, 12<SP>1</SP>.
