Abstract
531,274. Modulating systems. INTERCONTINENTAL-SERVICE CORPORATION July 15, 1939, No. 20626. Convention date, July 18, 1938. [Class 40 (v)] Energy from a radio frequency source 20 is modulated at a frequency determined by the rotation of a variable condenser element 26 and the side-bands, the carrier being suppressed, are applied to a load c, d. -The element 26 in association with elements 27 and a circuit element 33 varies the impedance of the transmission lines 23, 24 at points B cyclically between zero and infinity. The points B are an odd number of quarter wave lengths from the source 20. Similar variation of impedance occurs at points C of the lines 22, 25 but out of phase with the variation at points B.
