Abstract
531,116. Glass. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., BREADNER, R. L., and FRANCIS, V. J. July 12, 1939, Nos. 20288/39 and 5515/40. [Class 56] [Also in Group XXXVI] To seal a conductor through a vitreous envelope 1, at least 1 mm. thick, a flat 2 is formed on a convex part, with a hole therethrough, the conductor 4, embedded in vitreous material 5 of such mass as to fit the hole is introduced, the edges are heated to join the abutting parts, and fused vitreous material 6 is added to the outside to make up the thickness at least to that originally present. Specification 506,562, [Group XXXVI], is referred to.
