Abstract
530,544. Propelling aircraft. JUNKERS FLUGZEUG - UND - MOTORENWERKE AKT.-GES. June 27, 1939, No. 18664. Convention date, July 9, 1938. Addition to 506,699. [Class 4] Aero-engine exhaust pipes constructed and arranged in the manner described in the parent Specification are surrounded by a fairing having air inlets adapted to direct air into the pipes. As shown, a single fairing 6 'having flanged inlets 9 is provided. A further air-inlet 7 is provided and air escapes to the atmosphere in the region of the outlet cross-sections of the pipes 2. In a modification the fairing 6 is surrounded by a further fairing having an airinlet at its leading edge. The air may be directed by inturned flanges or nozzles and a reflux propulsive effect may be obtained from the cooling air.
