529,979. Drawing frames. GROVES, W. W. (Rooney Hi-Drafting System, Inc.). May 30, 1939, No. 15871. I[Class 120 (i))] A drawing frame is provided with an overhead support for a series of sliver cans from which the slivers are fed to the drawing rollers. As shown the sliver cans C are mounted on an overhead platform 10 supported above the drawing frames 5 on posts 11. The slivers from each set of cans are fed to the drawing rollers by rotating rollers 15, 16, 17 of an upper guiding set operated in timed relation with the back rollers of the drawing frames, the slivers passing through a guide 20, over the inner roller 15, down around the roller 16 and up over the outer roller 17 and down to rollers 22, 23 of a lower guiding set before passing through the drawing rollers ; the sets of guiding rollers are geared by chains and sprockets to the back rollers of the drawing frame.
