Abstract

529,086. Road studs. MACNAB, J. May 22, 1939, No. 15142..[Class 87 (i)] A road stud for marking out traffic lanes, stop lines, wording or other road markings comprises a hollow cap b of rubber,or other moulded resilient material, the interior of which is filled by a block c of sponge rubber or other material of higher resiliency than the cap. In a preferred construction the stud comprises a metal casing a with a ridge d for supporting the rubber cap b and a ridge e for preventing its withdrawal. The cap b may have a plain upper surface but is preferably provided with light reflecting elements g placed in grooves h with cross grooves i to give a non-slip surface.
