433,732. Road surface signs. TRAFIXIGNS, Ltd., 9A, Sackville Street, LLEWELLYN, A. M., and LLEWELLYN, J. B., 4, Bonaparte Mansions, Westbourne Grove, Notting Hill, both in London. Feb. 23, 1934, No. 6014. [Class 3 (ii)] A road-surface sign comprising a metal plate having its upper surface formed of a coating of vitreous material and provided with studs for protecting the vitreous material is characterized by the provision of a rib or lip on the plate surrounding the outer edges of the vitreous material. In the arrangement shown in Figs. 1, 3, the plate, secured by bolts accommodated in recesses 6, is provided with a vitreous surface 2 protected by studs 3 and a lip 4 integral with the plate. Ribs 23, Fig. 9, covered by the vitreous material may also be provided. Alternatively, intersecting grooves may be formed in the plate into which the vitreous material flows so as to be held more firmly to the plate.
