528,592. Rectifying alternating current. SHAW, J. C. May 10, 1939, No. 13911. [Class 38 (ii)] In a vibratory switch rectifier the circuit is initially closed at the contacts of the vibratory switch 18 and thereby energizes the closing coils 14, 15 of one or more relays which close in succession and relieve the contacts of the switch of load current. The arrangement shown may be duplicated for full-wave operation, the transformer secondary 12 then being centre-tapped. Alternative constructions of relay, in one of which the moving member carries a bridging contact co-operating with a pair of fixed contacts, are described with reference to Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown).
